The Tennessee Electronic Library is happy to announce an updated version of The Tennessean available now to all Tennesseans!

The Tennessean (1999 - Current)

Full text of The Tennessean newspaper updated daily.  Provides Nashville and Middle Tennessee regional coverage.

Audience: Middle School, High School, College/Research, Public

Differences from previous version –

  • Coverage from 1999 to today! The previous version had up to a seven day delay for the newest edition. The new version is updated early everyday so you can access up-to-date coverage that you would find in the print version of the Tennessean.
  • Improved searching since each article is indexed. Patrons will be able to search by author, article type (editorial, feature), subject, or person! The previous version was full-text searching.
  • Full article retrieval is now possible. In the previous version, if an article started on page 1 and finished on page 9, patrons would have to navigate and download both pages to read the full text of the article.

Don't worry, you can search the archive of the Tennessean going back to 1812 using the Historical Nashville Tennessean database
